Civil Servants asked to stay out of politics

Civil Servants in Upper East Region were on Thursday advised to stay neutral and not let their political leanings undermine their work.

"You are not serving a political party, you are serving the State and so... avoid mixing up your political interest with what is expected of you as a Civil Servant," Mr Paul Kant, Regional Coordinating Director stressed.

Mr Kant gave the advice during a meeting, in Bolgatanga, with Heads of Departments (HoDs) and District Chief Executives in the Region to discuss preparation towards the elections.

He asked the civil servants to be committed to the government and not to attend political rallies nor be seen wearing party T-shirts.

Mr Kant called on the HoDs to give their vehicles out to the Electoral Commission to help with transportation of electoral material on December 7.

Mrs Lucy Awuni, Deputy Regional Minister, called on the people to do their best to maintain peace during and after the elections.
