P Amissah-Arthur assures fishers of NDC's support

Reminiscing his childhood fishing expeditions at Moree, Central Region, Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur on Thursday shared the frustrations of fisherfolks at Pute, near Ada,Greater Accra Region, and assured them of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) help and support.

He introduced the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Ada, Mrs Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe Ghansah, to the electorate and asked Ghanaians voters to give their thumbs to the NDC women parliamentary candidates to enhance the numbers of women in the Legislature.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur, running mate of President John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the NDC in Election 2012, was addressing a gathering of party supporters at Pute, as part of a tour of the Greater Accra Region.

He had earlier called on Nene Abram Ackuaku III, Paramount Chief of the Ada and President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs at Ada.

With data indicating few numbers of women parliamentarians, Vice President Amissah-Arthur described women as very loyal, and urged the electorate to give them the nod.

The gathering went agog, and wearing NDC paraphernalia sang, cheered, and blew vuvuzelas and inflatables as the Vice President introduced the Madam Cudjoe Ghansah.

At Sege, where the Vice President made a whistle stop, he addressed artisans and assured the people of the necessary Government intervention to their concerns for a permanent site and training programmes to enhance their skills.

Vice President Amissah-Arhur followed up to the Akplabanya Beach, and said the community was one of the sites selected for the construction of a landing beach.

He had earlier inspected the extent of damage caused by the tidal waves and sea erosion to the community, and assured the people that as someone from a fishing community, the problems of fishers are dear to his heart.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur introduced Mr Christian Otutyeye as the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Sege and asked the people to endorse him on the day of election.

Nene Larbia, Chief of Akplabanya, gave the NDC his open support.
