Billboards of NPP aspiring parliamentary candidate destroyed

Some billboards along the Sakasaka/ Bolgatanga road in the Tamale Metropolis  belonging to Mr Iddrisu Musuah Superior, New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Tamale Central,  have been destroyed by unidentified persons.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Monday, Mr Superior said the destruction was as a result of his performance in winning over voters   in the area to his side to help win the seat in the December election.

He said the billboards were destroyed a week ago and that he had reported the matter to the Tamale Police and also informed the Chief of Tamale.

Mr Superior said, "In a genuine campaign to become the MP of the constituency, this must not be part of the process to elect our MP, let's all play fair and be decent in this campaign".

"I have asked members of my party, friends and family not to retaliate or respond to this unprovoked attack," he said.

Mr Superior said the campaign in the constituency should be issue based, devoid of tribal and religious sentiments.

He appealed to supporters of his Party, sympathizers, friends and relations to stay away from acts and statements that had the tendency to distract the constituency from the peace that it is enjoying.
